Calero at lowest level since 2014!

In 2014,
Rancho Murieta was experiencing a significant drought.
On this page are photos of Lake Calero, our largest reservoir for Rancho Murieta municipal water supply taken on 10-13-2024. The lake is at the lowest level in 10 years.

Water use is high this October throughout the RMCSD due to excessive irrigation, excessive heat-induced evaporation, and suspected water seepage into the ground.

If the proposed future development of over 900 more homes obtains approval for water permits, Rancho Murieta residents will be risking not having a reliable water supply.
